How To Write a Perfect AI Prompt

From someone who wrote thousands of them

Do you feel like answers from ChatGPT are not good enough? I’ve got bad news for you.

It’s not AI, it’s you!

If you want good results from ChatGPT, you need to use good prompts.

But writing these good prompts takes time and effort.

So I spent my Saturday evening researching the tools to make it easier. And boy did I find one!

And I’ll demonstrate how to use it today. So buckle up, grab popcorn or a beer (or both), and let me show you how to write a perfect prompt with this secret tool.

How To Write Perfect Prompts

Spoiler alert: The tool I’ll be using is from Anthropic, the same company that created Claude. It’s fairly easy to access it, but don’t worry, we’ll go over it together step-by-step.

And the prompt I want to get is for creating playlist based on the mood.

So let’s see how it goes.

1/ Create Anthropic Account

Let’s start with creating the account.

Head over to Anthropic Console and create the account (if you don’t have one yet).

After you have your account, you’ll see the following screen.

2/ Write a Perfect Prompt

We don’t have to do a lot.

Just describe what you’re trying to do and the tool will handle the rest. In my case, I want the prompt to create a playlist based on my mood.

3/ Edit Generated Prompt

It took some time but the prompt I received was super detailed. Just look at the picture below.

Generated prompt

Now, we have 2 options.

  • Copy and paste the prompt into the AI chatbot of your choice.

  • Edit the prompt directly in the Anthropic Dashboard.

I’ll show you how to edit the prompt directly in Anthropic Dashboard. Just because how easy it is.

4/ Use Generated Prompt

If you click Start Editing, you get redirected to the page intimidating as hell.

But don’t worry, all you have to do is click Run in the top right corner.

You’ll be asked to fill in variables. You don’t need to change anything in the prompt, just fill in the parameters.

The tool will take these parameters, insert them into generated prompt, and give you the results. In my case, the playlist with 80s & 90s songs to make me excited.

Filling prompt parameters

I got my playlist, and it’s a pretty good one if you ask me. All that’s left for me is to enjoy some oldies hits.

The Playlist:

  1. "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and The Waves

  2. "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi

  3. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper
